This class is the first step in Attachment-Focused Therapy certification by the Attachment-Focused Treatment Institute. The class covers all the Required Core Training Content of the Attachment-Focused Treatment Institute. Participants will learn effective therapy principals, including
Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy, which can help traumatized children.
Participants will learn:
1. Initial work to determine parent readiness.
2. The components of Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy and the phases of treatment.
3. The differential use of components in different phases of treatment.
4. Effective therapeutic techniques to use with traumatized and attachment disordered children and their families.
5. Effective parenting principals.
Participants will have the opportunity to view videotapes of actual therapy sessions with traumatized children that demonstrate therapeutic principals and present their own video tapes or cases.
Starting dates and Zoom sessions are scheduled based on your availability and convenience. Independent study occurs at your pace.
A. 24 hour First Half.

B. 24 hour Second Half.
* Differential use of components of Practice in different phases of treatment.
* Treatment with different populations and circumstances.
* Experiential components of training.
* Consultation.
Sections A and B cover all the required core training content for training to meet the Attachment-Focused Treatment Institute's requirements to apply for the Practicum to become a Certified Attachment-Focused Therapist or an Attachment-Focused Family Therapist.
NOTE: The Attachment-Focused Treatment Institute and
ATTACh have begun a collaboration that will make it easier for clinicians to become a
Certified Attachment-Focused Therapist or a
Certified Attachment-Focused Family Therapist.
Clinicians who are Registered Clinicians with ATTACh do not have to submit an application to the Attachment-Focused Treatment Institute to begin the practicum to become a Certified Attachment-Focused Therapist or a Certified Attachment-Focused Family Therapist. In addition, the application fee to begin the practicum is waived. So, if you are a Registered Clinician with ATTACh and wish to begin the Practicum to become a Certified Attachment-Focused Therapist or a Certified Attachment-Focused Family Therapist, simply email your request to the Institute's Director,
Arthur Becker-Weidman, Ph.D. to begin the Practicum and then select your
Consultant.
